“Kelly Latimore graduated from Greenville University in 2009, with a B.S. in  ITEP ( Art and Religion emphasis). He began painting icons at the suggestion of fellow members of the Common Friars, a monastic farming community of men and women, in Athens, Ohio In 2010. His first icons were constructed from wood taken from the farm’s barn and depicted saints important to the community’s work and life. Kelly has since moved to Saint Louis where he lives with his partner Evie. His work continues to focus on both using the practices and forms of traditional Christian iconography while also hoping to create new images that resonate with people today.”
